Michelle paints landscapes, figures, portraiture and still life. She works in her studio and also plein air (on location).
She has studied under local artists and in July 2004 participated in a workshop hosted by George Strickland with Laguna Beach Art Workshops.
In 1996, Michelle and friends traveled to Taos to study other artists work at New Mexico museums and galleries. This trip began Michelles interest in painting en plein aer.
Her next excursion for the love of art was to Europe in Montpellier, France. Michelle studied the language, history, culture, and the art. Of course, taking her easel with her, she enjoyed many inspired painting expeditions throughout the Languedoc region. She continued on to Florence, Italy, studying the portraiture of Caravaggio, at the Angel Academy. It was an amazing adventure for Michelle to study art works in the Louvre and Musee dOrsay. Trips through Lamscheid, Germany provided many exciting opportunities to paint.
Michelle recalls her travels through Europe as spiritually moving, artistically motivating, and as something she will do again in the near future.
